Welcome Venue Owners & Promoters
We want Angkor Now to be a trusted home for every business, venue, gig, and happy hour in Siem Reap. For our visitors, that means providing information that is 100% accurate. For you, the business owner, that means keeping your listing absolutely safe from competitors, spam, or accidental coordinate mistakes.
Traditional website dashboards are notoriously painful—they ask you to remember separate passwords, confirm email links, and manage settings on a desktop computer. As busy business owners, you rarely have time for that.
To make venue updates and event posting effortless in the future, we are planning to build a next-generation Telegram Verification System. This simple guide outlines our planned future features, how this secure technology will work generally, and our systematic, phased plan for delivering it to the Siem Reap community.
Please Note: This document represents our engineering blueprint for future releases. Rather than serving as current instructions, it serves as a friendly guide showing our planned future roadmap and how we deliver reliable technology as a company.
Why This Evolving System is Great for Your Business
By bringing venue management directly into Telegram in our upcoming upgrades, we aim to eliminate merchant friction while reinforcing directory security:
- Absolute Identity Protection: Our planned verification will map your personal Telegram account to your specific venue profile. Once mapped, only you or your pre-approved managers can submit changes to the site.
- Friction-Free Profile Updates: Need to adjust your opening times, correct your business phone number, or change a map location coordinate? In Phase 2, you will just send our bot a quick message. No dashboards or passwords required.
- Post Events in Seconds: In the future, you will text our bot your happy hours, cover pricing, start/stop times, special deals, or Facebook event links. The bot will automatically process the message and publish it live to the map!
How the Claiming Process Works (Step-by-Step Blueprint)
When our planned conversational claim assistant goes live, claiming your business has been designed to be simple, secure, and completed in under two minutes:
- Step 1: Locate Your Venue (Upcoming): When you trigger the bot, it will search our live directory and display matches as clickable keyboard buttons. You will select your exact venue, avoiding raw text spelling issues.
- Step 2: Enter Verification Details (Upcoming): The bot will prompt you for your name and the official contact email or phone number associated with your business (or your public Facebook page). This will be captured securely and encrypted in our database.
- Step 3: Quick Editorial Verification (Upcoming): To prevent hijacking, our friendly team of local editors will receive a notification. We will crosscheck your claim (e.g. verifying against your official Facebook page or checking in). Once approved, your Telegram account will be permanently linked to your venue.
- Step 4: Update Instantly (Upcoming): Once linked, you will gain "Verified Owner" status! When you send updates or submit new events, our system will flag you automatically, and your changes will be fast-tracked to the map instantly.
The Technology Explained in Plain English
Behind this friendly conversational layout is a set of elegant systems we are designing to make your future experience smooth and secure.
Stateful Dialogues (Dialogue Session Memory)
Standard chat systems are stateless—meaning they treat each incoming message as a completely isolated input. If you type "Yes", the system does not natively remember what it asked you previously.
To handle this in our upcoming build, we are creating session memory. The system will record your active state inside our database. When you message the bot, it will instantly remember exactly where you are in the claiming process, guiding you cleanly from search to select without ever getting confused.
Fuzzy String Reconciliation (Smart Searching)
We know that typing mistakes happen, and business names are prone to spelling slips when entered on phone keyboards.
Our planned Fuzzy Matching Engine resolves this. It calculates the mathematical difference (string edit distance) between your typed query and our database titles. By breaking words down into slices, the engine retrieves matching records even if they contain typos. If you type "elefant cafe", the bot will reconcile it to “The Elephant Café” and display it as a clickable keyboard selection button.
Double-Blind Action Queues (Human Moderation)
To prevent competitors or spammers from locking you out of your own listing, we are designing a secure moderation registry queue. When you claim a venue, it will be placed in a review pool. Our local editorial staff will compare your details against physical contact lists or your established social presence.
Furthermore, our database will block duplicate claims while one is under review, keeping the moderation pipeline clear of spammers. Once an editor clicks Approve, the system will instantly encrypt your contact details, link your account, and fire a friendly confirmation message to your Telegram client.
Our Phased Rollout Plan
To deliver this technology safely and systematically without disrupting active listings, we are rolling out these features in three structured phases:
This is where we stand today! Our Telegram Bot acts as a secure contact bridge. When a venue owner or event promoter messages our bot, our editorial team collects the details (verifying cover pricing, Facebook links, and start/stop hours manually) and makes directory updates within 24 hours.
We are currently programming the stateful bot workflows. This upgrade will let venue owners search, select, and submit verification details natively inside their Telegram keyboard with zero typing mismatch errors, preparing your claims queue dossiers automatically.
Once verified owners are mapped in our database, they will gain trusted publishing credentials. Updates and event postings (such as happy hours, pricing updates, or specials) sent to the bot from a verified Telegram profile will automatically bypass standard queues, updating our live directory map in real time!
Angkor Now is a live, functional prototype — built to demonstrate how we solve complex data problems and create custom digital tools for businesses, tourism boards, and local authorities. Need something like this for your city or organisation?
Conclusion
Building a premium city guide requires a balance between user convenience and data security. Decoupled conversational verification solves this. By transforming standard Telegram interfaces into stateful, secure data-gathering agents, and backing them with strict editorial double-checks and phased development roadmaps, we will build a trusted local ecosystem for Siem Reap.
